Some renovations are about transforming spaces. Others are about revealing what has always been there. This 94 m² apartment on Bailén Street belonged to the latter: a home whose identity had been shaped by time, yet still held enormous potential waiting to be uncovered.
Our approach was to adapt the apartment to a more contemporary way of living, removing unnecessary partitions and creating a more fluid relationship between spaces. The kitchen was integrated into the living area to create a spacious, bright and sociable environment where everyday life unfolds naturally.
Rather than erasing its history, we drew inspiration from it. The original patterned cement-tile floors and interior woodwork were carefully restored, while new plaster ceiling mouldings were introduced to reinforce the apartment’s classical character and recreate the elegant atmosphere of the Eixample’s historic buildings.
The result is a calm home full of personality, where original features coexist with new interventions designed to blend in naturally. A home that looks to the future without sacrificing the architectural character that makes it unique.
