In the heart of Barcelona’s Eixample district, on the iconic Enric Granados Street, this 145 m² apartment has been transformed without losing its essence. Located on the principal floor of a historic building, the project began with a clear idea: to preserve the memory of the space while adapting it to a new way of living.
The apartment’s original ceilings and Nolla mosaic floors take centre stage. Both have been carefully preserved and restored to reveal their beauty and authenticity. The interior doors were stripped by hand to expose the natural wood, adding warmth, while sections of Catalan vaulting and original brickwork have been left exposed to reveal the building’s structural character.
The new layout opens up the apartment for contemporary living, connecting the kitchen, living room and dining area in a single, fluid and light-filled space. In contrast, the sleeping area offers calm and privacy.
The result is a home where history is not erased but integrated: a quiet dialogue between original architecture and contemporary design that defines a more thoughtful and elegant way of living in Barcelona.
