Bailén
- Full Renovation
- 126 m²
- Eixample, Barcelona
- Living and dining room, semi-open kitchen, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a workspace.
Some homes retain a quiet beauty, waiting for the right moment to be rediscovered. This 126 m² apartment on Bailén Street was one of them. Beneath the layers accumulated over time, many of the original features that gave it character and personality remained intact, waiting for a renovation that would bring them back into focus.
Our approach began with a clear objective: to adapt the apartment to a more open, light-filled and connected way of living without compromising its original character. The new layout centres around a kitchen open to the living and dining area, conceived as the true heart of the home: a space for sharing, living and enjoying everyday moments.
Throughout the project, we carried out meticulous restoration work. The original patterned cement-tile floors, decorative ceiling mouldings and interior woodwork were carefully restored to preserve the home’s history and celebrate the richness of Barcelona’s architecture from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The result is a home with a genuine sense of character. A calm balance between past and present, where every restored element adds depth, texture and warmth. An apartment brought back to life, ready for a new chapter.
